Expert Solution

To find out the gene and its particular region follow following steps:

  • go to genome.ucsc.edu. : main page for the Genome Browser will be open
  • links at the upper left-hand corner will take you to the swlwction page for choosing the organism.
  • Click on the desired name and submit: gene with a number of data tracks will be turned on.
  • Click on hide all to clear the image.
  • Now click on turn on the UCSC Genes track to pack visibility : It will show all of the genes in this particular region
  • TYpe the desiredcoordinates and click go: It will take you the desired location.
  • Other isoforms can be removed by deselecting the  “splice variants” box
  • Click submit: It will show only one isoform of genes selected.
  • Then click "selected fields from primary and related tables” afollowed by [get output] button
  • Nowyou will be redirected to the page where you will be able to to choose “chromosome,” “transcription start” and “transcription end informations by clicking on desired options.

Genes are specific sequences of nucleotides that code for mRNA which may be translated into a protein. The nucleotide is the building block of nucleic acids, RNA and DNA. A nucleotide is composed of a pentose sugar, attached to one of five nitrogenous bases, guanine (G), cytosine (C), thymine (T), or adenine (A) and phosphate groups. The bases are covalently bonded through an ester bond between the hydoxyl group of one ribose and the phosphate group of another nucleotide. All...

Part A -tRNA interactions with mRNA and the ribosome Ribosomes provide the scaffolding on which tRNAs interact with mRNA during translation of an mRNA sequence to a chain of amino acids. A ribosome has three binding sites, each of which has a distinct function in the tRNA-mRNA interactions. Drag the appropriate tRNAs to the binding sites on the ribosome to show the configuration immediately before new peptide bond forms. Note that one of the binding sites should be left empty.
