How can personality test be used in the Human Service Field or for a Case Mnaager?
Human services deals with helping and providing service to people to function well in the society and in their lives. Interviews and case history of the person can be taken to understand and identify the problem. After identifying the problems, goals and treatment plan are set.
To understand a person better and to know in depth about a person, personality tests are very useful. Personality tests may provide information such as, if the person is an introvert or an extrovert, does he like to socialize with people or spend time alone. Other personality traits such as agreeableness and openness to experience , and how they deal with many life situation can be identified.
In cases where the client is suspected of some disorder, personality tests could be done to identify personality problems or disorders. Psychometric test are conducted, or even projective personality test could be administered to identify the problem and make a diagnosis. Personality tests provide a standardized way of a assessing a person, which can be useful for diagnosis and treatment purposes.
