Lead poison is the over accumulation of lead in the body over months or years. Main source of lead presents in lead based paints in older building and old toys. Children below 6yrs are more vulnerable to lead poisoning. Lead poisoning affect in brain functions So teachers and parents should take some simple steps to prevent lead poisoning.
- Avoid using painted toys.
- surroundings should be clean and free from dust.
-Make sure that child is performing proper hand hygiene before eating.
- wash childrens toy and bottles regularly.
-Advice children to do hand washing after playing.
- Try to use lead free paints.
- lead poisoning can diagnosed through blood test.
- if child affected wish lead poisoning child will get abdominal pain and cramps, constipation, head ache, loss of fatigue etc.
-Major treatment is to avoid source of lead and use of medication that bind the lead so it can eliminated from the body called chelation therapy.
