Where did your family values come from?
Family values can be either called traditional values or cultural values, passed on from genearations to famillies. These values are set based on traditions and the society we live in.They are a set of norms. As children we are reared to follow the set of tradition, culture and upbringing. We belong to different ethnic groups and each ethic group follow these traditions. For example being born in an Indian traditional family, we are taught the male is the breadwinner, mother takes care of the house hold such as family cooking and childrenWe live with extended family . It is not always that we adhere to these values, but they are taught to us that these are the beliefs that abide us in this society.when we move from one culture to another, adaptation becomes slightly difficult as cultural and social values differ.Family values start as early as we are born, habit formation and rearing starts with keeping family values in mind.
