Medical assistants are caregivers who work primarily in doctors’ offices and clinics; although they may also work in hospitals and they are unlicensed .Administrative medical assistants are responsible for the everyday happenings in a clinical office. They generally work at the front desk, dealing with opening and closing of an office/ healthcare facility,, filing medical documents and handling insurance forms.

RESPONSIBILITIES WHEN OPENING AND CLOSING THE HEALTHCARE FACILITY

If a medical assistant is assigned as an in charge for opening and closing procedure based on the institutional policies and procedure, and based on check list if any get ready for a day work

Opening procedure

· Reach 30 minutes early

· check the telephone computer etc. working status

· check any urgent works to be handled

· Keep the medical records ready for the doctor etc.

Closing procedure

· Ensure all have gone out

· Ensure lights are off

· Ensure all the departments closed etc. as per the institutional policies
