what do u use to condition a buret?

what do u use to condition a buret?

Solutions

Expert Solution

A burette is a glass tube with a tap at one end ,for delivering known volumes for a liquid ,especially in titrations.

To get the correct values in experiment firstly rinse the burette with distilled water thoroughly and let it drain through the tip.secondly condition with the solution to be put in the burette by pouring a small portion of that solution into the burette with the stopcock closed.

Conditioning is done to insure that the concentration of titrant is not changed by a stray drop of water.

Read the buret volume at the bottom of the meniscus. Report the buret reading to one digit beyond the markings on the buret. Remember that the volume starts at zero at the top of the buret - the opposite of what would be seen when reading a graduated cylinder.   Since the markings are at every tenth of a milliliter, the volume level is between 46.8 mL and 46.9 mL. Mentally divide up the space between those markings and estimate...
