Question

Hello to anyone reading this!

I will start taking physics 6 (general physics at my college) my upcoming semester and I would like to start studying a bit on the subject before summer is over. Does anyone have any tips, or would like to share their experience in this class that I should know about to better prepare? Im a lil worried on this class since I'm not entirely great at math even though I just passed Trig with an A(litteraly studied so hard for it) as well as having trouble with formulas and such. How is the math aspect of this class? Thank youuu(:

Endsems of 1st semester, November 2017:

my total in Mathematical physics is only 4/50 till now. I am not able to understand anything from Complex Analysis. we have Linear Algebra too from the pre-midsem part ! Backlog is coming man.

Endsems of 2nd semester, April 2018:

I don’t even know how much I am scoring till now in Physics-core course and Python- language. 15 is the pass mark ? Surface Integral and Divergence theorem. I will surely get a backlog !”

Now you surely need to know why I went well off-track and almost got into some real trouble with my career.

I became a First Year master Student:

Then came the lectures which seemed so boring. I was a last bencher in my school no doubt, but it continued in my college too and I was not able to follow anything that was taught in class. I used to sleep in class.

The only moment when I realized that I messed up the entire semester was on the last day before exam.

Getting good grades is easy, but getting a backlog or a poor grade is even easier.

I have seen people in my college getting year backs and semester backs, and believe me, I almost got one too. I feel lucky to have escaped first year without a backlog with that kind of seriousness levels.

My CPI after 1st year is just 6.45, and I have a huge task in my hands to send it above 7.5 by the end of 2nd year. Wish me luck guys !

1. Study. Please study and follow whatever is done in the class.
2. Try not to get addicted into anything. Its easy to get addicted to lots of fancy stuffs especially when you are away from your parents for the very first time. Although I have seen addicts getting seriously good grades but that doesn’t mean you can do the same !
3. Some of your seniors may tell you to join something ( for example, becoming a cultural secy of your college fest) and say that you can write that down in your resume/ CV. But believe me, most companies/PSUs won’t give a criticize about it. All they care is your CPI, and do everything you can to maintain a decent CPI.
4. Make friends wisely, and ensure that you don’t make enemies !
5. Listen to what your Professor teaches you or else you will struggle like me.
6. Remember that there is a life after engineering too, and always make choices thinking about your future in mind.
