Answer) In case of Sri Lanka, there has been an ongoing issue conflict between the Sinhala and Tamils. This conflict became a secessionist movement that moulded into a violent civil war. With establishment of LTTE ( Liberation of Tamil Tigers Elam). The causes of this conflict were:

  1. Buddhism was made the official religion of Sri Lanka. This undermined the interest of Tamilian Hindu residing bin Sri Lanka.
  2. The ban on literature and poems written in Tamil. There was an imposition on the import of such books
  3. The Tamilian were not provided adequate representation in the parliament, education, and public sector.

This resulted in resentment towards the Sinhala. There have been a large number of terrorist strike in Sri Lanka. The damage was not contained in the region itself. The tentacles of terrorist spread into other parts of South Asia. Such as the assassination of former Indian Prime minister, mr Rajiv Gandhi by the hands of one such extremist group.
