Modeling and Role Modeling theory was developed by Helen C. Erickson et al and published in 1983. This theory is known as a philosophy of nursing.

Application in clinical setting

This theory helps nurses to take care for each client according to their need. This theory helps nurses to do interventions considering each client as unique and to encourage them to respect each client while planning and doing an intervention. It enables nurses to know about the client’s personal model of their world and helps to consider its worth and importance. It also helps nurses to do unique interventions as per the need of the client. According to this theory, client is the expert in their own care and recognize and identify in a finest level about how he or she wants to be assisted. It helps to affirm client’s strength. This will help nurses to provide holistic nursing care
