Supply Netrwork for Company Raw materials
A supply network is a pattern of temporal and spartial processes carried out at facility nodes and over distribution links, which adds value for the customer through the manufacturing and delivery of the products.
Basically, supply chain consists of all the steps involved i getting a product from a raw material into the hands of the customer. normally, it begains with the vendors or supppliers and next to the manufacturing and then to the Retailer and finallly in the hands of the customer. So, it may be analysed as:
Vendor to manufacturing to Wholeseller to Retailer and then to the customer which is the end process in the supply chain management.
Supply network is comprises the general state of business affairs in which all kinds of material (work-in-progress as well as finished product ) are transformed and moved between various value added for customer
A supply chain is a special instance of supply network in which raw material , intermediate material and finished goods precurred for making the product through a chain of processes that supply one to other.
In the semi conductor industry , for example work in process moves from fabrication to assembly and then to the test house. The term supply network refers to hi-tech phenomena of contract manufacturing where the owner of brand does not touch instead they coordinate with contract manufacturer and component supplier who ship the component to brand owner , under this process brand owner must stay in touch with multiple parties or network at once.
Supply network affectively align its strategy operation , management system , governance structure and decision support capabilities , so that it can uncover and adjust the continuity and changing risk
It has the capability to respond rapidly for unforseen changes so that fast action is taken.
The main resilence of a supply network is the ability to bounce back and infact to bounce forward with speed and determination.
Supply network should align its strategy and operation to adopt to risk that affects its capacities. There are four level of supply chain.
- reactive supply chain management
- internal supply chain integration
- collaboration across extended
- a dynamic supply chain adoption and flexibility
From the strategic resilient view point a supply network must dynamically reinvent business model and strategies according to change in circumstances . There must be flexible supply chain .
Strategic resilence require continous innovation , with respect to product structure processes and cooperate behaviour
As per the operational resilence, the supply network must response to ups and downs of business cycle and to quickly rebalance product service mix, processes and supply chain by flexibility according to change in the environment.
On the other hand Automation systems allow companies to minimize data entry, reduce the time spent proof-reading and also reduce the risks associated to human error. It will also helpful in reducing the storage, handling documantation faxes, labor and waste, for betterment of the firms.
