Solutions

Expert Solution

Amazon prime is in the 'growth' stage of a product lifecycle are introduction, growth, maturity, and decline.

In the introduction stage, the product is introduced to the consumers for the first time. So, the main focus on this stage is to create awareness about the product among consumers. In the growth stage, the product gets increasing acceptance among consumers and its sale keeps increasing at a rapid speed. In the maturity stage, the sales reach the maximum limit. At the decline stage, the sales of the product decline because of the availability of other substitutes.

I think Amazon Prime is in the 'growth stage' of the product lifecycle. Amazon prime was launched in 2005 and it has more than 80 million subscribers. Therefore, the product is well past the introduction stage and has entered the growth stage in which subscription will increase rapidly. The product has a huge unexplored market. Therefore, the maturity stage will come after many years.
