Expert Solution

Product life cycle refers to a process in which a product passes through 4 states of his life, from introduction in market to decline from market.

EXAMPLE

Lets take an Example of Nokia

Introduction

Entered in india in 1995. With very less models. Like nokia 2110 with CDMA ad GSM phone.

It is the first model which sends and receives the SMS. And at this time nokia compete with market leader name "Motorola"

Growth

In this stage of growth nokia introduces some phones without antina and have some features like games, ergonomic keyboard, alarm etc.

Introduce models like 3310 and 3315. And also launch model NOT to compete with i-phone

Maturity

This is the third stage of life cycle in which Nokia brings touch screen phone into market aswell quarty keyboard phone.

And focus on its E- Series phone to compete with Blackberry

This time Nokia covered huge market share of india, like he is the leader of the smartphone.

Decline

In this stage nokia crashed like stock market crash because nokia is not come with android but he come his old technology, this crashed his market like anything. After some time it comes with Windows but still Nokia is not able to do good as he was doing in past years (2000-2009)
