Discuss what is unethical behavior and what can you do to ensure that you are able to follow the rules

The unethical behavior is a behavior displayed by an individual which in the context of medical/ healthcare professionals is associated with methods/ practices which lead to

1. Medical errors

2. Increases risk to patient

3. Preventable harm to patient and fatal outcomes

4. Increased cost of treatment

5. Deliberate violation of safety and professional guidelines

6. Violations of institutional and moral code of conduct

Prevention of the unethical behavior incidences and in a larger context achieve the adherence to the moral and ethical code of conduct is very important. For achieving this uniformly we have to implement some changes following are the way or methods by which we ensure that you are able to follow the rules:

1. Recruitment: Recruitment needs to include the criteria to hire the employees who have high adherence and core set of ethical principles who abide by the positive fundamental values of medicine

2. Promoting professional integrity: There should be arrangement of educational seminar/ lectures where the staff and the leaders can be educated on ethical practices and professional integrity so that we can ensure ethical code of conduct is followed.

3. Increasing oversight by Staff and all employees: The oversight mechanism can include feedback, complaints that can have a mechanism to investigate, analyze of the unethical behavior and incidences and can formulate institutional policies and code of conduct and determine the impact and assess the situation for further actions.

4. Provide patient with educational materials to inform expectations and their choices: Once the patient know the rights and correct procedure they can prevent the unethical treatment and also help in reporting and resolution of any transgressions

5. Tracking complains and consequences: The institute or medical board can track any complaints on unethical behavior and based on through investigations lay fines/ p stern punishment on the guilty party and set an example to abide by the ethical practices.
