What is design document? What is included in a design document? How is it useful for training?
A design document is a document used to help with in the development of training and it explains the training to the managers, reviewers and other trainers. The design document should list the scope of the project, the delivery and the objectives. The scope of the project should include the goals, target audience, the design time and checkpoints throughout the training and the length of the course. The delivery includes what the course covers and what method will be used for the delivery. The objectives describe the purpose of the training. It is important because it helps the trainers understand what the training is and how it is going to be delivered. It also tells the participants what to expect throughout the course
Customer service training involves far transfer. What design features would you include in a customer service training program to ensure that transfer of training occurred? What is a curriculum road map? Why is it important?
For making the training to be effective for the company, they should ensure that the things learned by the trainees during the training program will be used in their jobs. There are several models that are introduced for the transfer of training several models consists of training inputs, training outputs and also the conditions of the transfer. The training input includes the characteristics if the trainee, training design factors and the working environment factors. The learning and retention both will be affected by the training inputs. The training transfer can be described as near transfer or the far transfer of training, the near transfer may be defined as the situation of the stimulus for the event of original learning. This transfer implies the high degree of similarity between the training setting and the working setting. In contrast to near transfer the far transfer is defined as the area that carries some attention in the literature and it describes the situation when the stimulus for the event of transfer are different from each other for the original learning of event. It involves the transfer of more general knowledge so it is not contextual.
