The viral infections tend to cause disease but when it comes to virus, they are unable to survive on their own. This means that they require their host for survival and can reproduce when they attach to the host cell and are able to integrate their genetic material into them. After they attach to the host cell, they produce new virus particles and after a point, the host cell burst releasing the viral particles and ends of dying. In order for them to replicate and produce proteins, they must rely on their host.
The viruses tend to enter human body through an opening, and most are transmitted from person to person. They tend to mostly enter via nose or mouth and as it enters inside the body, the virus is able to attach to the cell which is the host cell and it leads to production of identical viral particles after attacking the host cell. The virus tends to most attack a cell in the body.
Some of the virus have specialized structure which tend to cause the infection. For example the flu virus are enveloped virus as it consists of membrane like envelope around it capsid. It consists of host cell and component of viral particle and hence it helps the virus in infecting the host. There are many human disease caused by wide range of virus like Ebola virus, chicken pox, coronavirus etc.
