Defend the changes that technology has brought to society's communication patterns, such as the expediency of email and texting, reduced costs, and access to people around the world.
The technology has brought
significant changes to the communication pattern followed by the
society. It has brought speed, accuracy and cost efficiency to the
communication methods followed by the people either in their
organization or in personal space. Though some of the communication
methods are disruptive in nature as these methods have eliminated
(almost) the traditional methods, but it has worth to change the
communication. For example, the prevalence of emails and SMS has
made the very least use of general post of letters. Emails and SMS
are cost effective methods, quick, accurate and can be saved,
whereas postal letters take time, relatively costly and has the
scope to be lost. So, technology has enabled people to cross the
hindrance of cost and time to achieve the high level of
efficiency.
Further, the use of technology in Whats-App telephony, internet
calls have brought in new ways to communicate either on one to one
basis or in a group, that too at a very (or no) cost. So,
technology has brought change, but the change is good for the
society.
