Taking care of the paediatric patient is a great challenge in the field of nursing.This is because the adult patients are able to convey their difficulties but the paediatric patients are not able to tell us what is happening with them until and unless we find it by good observation we will not be able to analyse it.It is important for a nurse to be sensitive while taking care of a child.The feeling of empathy has a great role here.It is essential to make a good rapport with the parents.This will help to obtain the parents confidence in the nursing care what you are giving to the child.Also whenever you do procedure before performing it explain it to the parents first with the rationale,so that they will be able to coperate with you in providing the nursing care.
