Expert Solution

The physician orders Methergine 0.3 mg po twice a day for postpartum bleeding. The medication is supplied in 0.2-mg tablets.

0.3 mg x 2 (As twice a day)

= 0.6 mg

Since the medication is supplied in 0.2-mg tablets

= 0.6/0.2

= 3 tablets the nurse will administer in a day (it will be twice and thus at each time it will be 1.5 tablets)
