The rules for using proper telephone etiquette are as following

  • Always ensure to talk in a polite manner when attending a telephone call. This is the first impression for better introduction and showing professionalism
  • The caller has to be provided concised information .This will save time and ensure the caller gets the necessary information only.
  • The person who attends the call should have a brief knowledge in regards to the organization or the place they work .This can be helpful to answer all queries of the clue who calls for information or help
  • It is highly important to not waste the time of the caller by providing only the accurate data.

Some common telephone courtesy are as following

  • There should be a clear and audible talk
  • Using the language which the client speaks
  • Listen carefully before responding to the queries
  • It is very important to introduce self as soon as one picks or attends a call
  • The client should not be placed on gold for a longer time exceeding 30-45 seconds
