  • curtain area.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Valve overlap - Valve overlap is the time when both the inlet and the exhaust valves are open. It happens from the time of just before the end of the exhaust stroke and start of the suction stroke, when the exhaust valve is closing and the inet valve is opening. So there exist a short time duration for which both the exhaust and the inlet valve are open. This is known as Valve overlap.

Lobe separation - The Lobe Separation is the angle in camshaft degrees between the maximum lift points (or centerlines) of the Intake and the Exhaust Lobes.

Valve Curtain Area - Valve Curtain Area is the flow area that is created for the maximum valve lift i.e when the valve is lifted to its extreme height.
