Draw comparisons between transactional dan transformational theory. Is it possible for a leader to be both? can they be complementary to each other?
Answer-
Transformations leaders work towards the company’s goals and thus motivate employees to improve their morals and to work more hard towards achieving the ultimate goal of the company and extends to the outer boundaries of the company. While on the other hand in transactional leadership tge workers are motivated to achieve their self interest goals and is withing the company’s boundary.
Both the learders have different set of goals and different purpose of motivating the employees thus, it is difficult to be both and also being a transformational as well as a transactional leader can be ineffcient as the leader would not be able to concentrate on either of the two things.
Motivation to employees is required for both ie., achieving their self goals and the company’s ultimate goals. So, the transformational and transactional leadership compliment each other and are two supportive leadership functions of the organisation.
