Is Elon Musk a transactional or Transformational leader? What competencies/examples does Elon Musk show to be one of these types of leaders? How might this affect his staff/stakeholders?
Elon Reeve Musk is an engineer, industrial designer, technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was born on 28 june,1971 and is a citizen of South africa,canada and the united states. He is the founder CEO,CTO and chief designer of spaceX.
He is a transformational leader as he resist changes at paypal. Generally the leader who resist changes are called transformational leader.
In high speed rail system in California elon musk went to design and propose his own hyperloop,using a dozen engineers from spaceX and tesla. He said that he will take people 350 miles (from sylmar to hayward) within 35 minutes or less. That is why he is called a transformational leader.
This can effect his staff because elon musk is a self-serving leader. It can lead to negativity. And since a leader is self serving he can see his best due to wrong decisions can be practised which is a risky step. Priority should be given to all.
