The feel of being burned out at work or defeated corresponds to one of the most commonly known phenomenon, stress. A person is as good as long as he can handle stress in the best possible way. Unless and until a person is not able to handle stress, they would continue to be low on morale. This ability to handle stress can be referred to as the phenomenon of coping up. Coping up can be defined as the situation in which a person can manage his emotions and get out of the most difficult conditions in the most efficient manner. Some people are good with their coping up strategies and hence have that sense of control, whereas, some people do not have good coping up capabilities, and this is when they are said to have no control over their emotions.

It is not that people are born fearless or born confident, but the coping strategies employed by different people are different. Some people are an expert when it comes to being able to get over their anxiety and looking into the eye of someone else and carry out their usual routine without fear overtaking their actions. Such are the people who are generally seen as being public speakers or having been performed well in a meeting with the senior.
How does controlling your arousal state help with your performance in the field?
The sooner is the arousal state, the lower would be the performance in the field. This means that if a person is able to control his arousal or his threshold value, he would be able to keep his calm and think rationally rather getting influences or swayed in emotions and taking decisions that are affected by emotional biases.
