In your opinion, what is the relationship between our dreams and our lives? how did reading this poem change your opinion or understanding of dreams?

I'm having a hard time understanding the Poem "Dreams" by Linda Pastan.

Dreams is a famous poem written by Linda Pastan. We know that there is a wide difference between our dreams and our real life.We dream but all our dreams does not come true. Dreams are a result of cleaning of mish-mash of your desires/fears. Desires(unfulfilled) can be of current life or past life. Dreams are real in the sense that they do exist as a phenomenon in your brain, and real signals are being sent, just like with anything else that happens in your brain.

Dreams are not those which we see during our sleep, but dreams are those which did not let us sleep. We shpould dream and dream high. We should work hard to fulfill our dreams.Reality is misunderstood. It’s a crude blatant realisation of whats to come in the moment, with little to no predictability.In comparison, dreams each represent something, put forward pieces of information that piece together our state of mind and viewpoint in a less obvious way. I recently had a dream about someone I don’t talk to anymore, it was a strange dream whereas I was sitting down in my room with her by my side. Throughout the dream the situation drastically changed and in the end we were having sex while the backround of my dream became faded. Next thing I knew I was thrown into a distopian reality where someone expected me to plug a giant sink underneath a T-Junction. The water boiled as I swam through it, and with only a glimpse back towards the railings I jumped in from, my head was pulled underwater.

Each dream in particular, if looked at from the right angle can be read and give a detailed description of your current mental state in the real world. No matter how pointless the dream may seem, try to analyse it by comparing it with your current though process and social situation. It could mean anything, sure dreams aren’t limited by the physical capabilities of the real world.
