Obesity is one of the leading problem in many countries

1. Number of new cases of obesity among college students in saudhi Arabia in 2019 It is DESCRIPTIVE STUDY  type because here we are defining the population  that is population is being investigated and studying about a specific disease . In descrpitive type of study there is no COMPARISION and no TEMPORALITY   2. Numberof students with obesity are physically active Number of students with obesity are physically inactive It is ANALYTICAL STUDY type because comparision is present where we are comparing between who are physically active and physically inactive of obesity students . They are 4 types of analytical study 1.ecological 2.cross sectional 3.case control   4.cohort so, more precisely we can say that the above statement is ANALYTICAL CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY type because here with individuals as a unit of study

3.DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DESCRIPTIVE AND ANALYTIC CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

DESCRIPTIVE STUDY

  • Descriptive studies are usuallythe first phase of an epidemiological investigation. These studies are concerned with observing the distribution of disease or health -related characteristics in human population and identifying thecharacteristics with which the disease in question seemsto be associated
  • In this study basically ask the questions- when is the disease occuring ,where is it occuring ,who is getting the disease there is no comparision and no temporality

ANALYTICAL CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

  • Analytical studies are the second major type of epidemiological studies .In contrast to descriptive studies where that look at entire populations, in analytical studies, the subject of interest is the individual within the population
  • Such studies does not ask questions comparision is present in this type of study
