I would not purchase or consume genetically modified foods why because GM foods also known as genetically engineered foods or bio-engineered foods are foods produced from organisms that have had changes introduced in to their DNA by genetic engineering,so this type of food is not good for health.

2.Genetically modified foods are not safe for consumption.

3.The biggest threat caused by GM foods is that they can have harmful effects on the human body. It is believed that consumption of these GM food can cause the development of disease which are immune to antibiotics, allergic reactions, cancer, damage to the nervous, endocrine, and reproductive system.

4. Six food items that contain GMO's are Soybean, corn, canola, Papaya,Yellow summer squash, and cotton seeds.

5.The reason GMO food should be voluntarily labeled by the food industry is that it is clear, some consumers want to know what they are eating and they have the right to know what is in their food.
