In investment company; what is the
difference between direct investment, real assets, public equity,
and
private equity departments?

Direct investment - The direct investment like FDI is by investment in a foreign business that is needed to acquire a controlling interest in this companies.
Real assets - Real assets are assets that have been acquired by investing in real estate like lands, buildings and real estate investments.
Public equity - It is done by getting listed in stock markets like IPO process which is used for growth opportunities, working capital requirements and investing in new projects. The individuals can buy ownership in shares or stocks of a company through a public markets.
Private equity - This investment is done by completely acquiring small companies ( 100 %). This investment is done and later the company is sold. Private equity is composed of funds and investors that directly invest in private companies, or dealing in buyouts of public companies and resulting in the delisting of public equity.
