Metaparadigm contains central tissues in discipiln. Fawcett has
named person, health, environment and nursing are the four main
concepts of the nursing. The nurse theorists agree that these are
essential to the development of theories . And these theories are
generation of knowledge used for practices.
The metaparadigm person focus on the patient who is recipient of
the care. Eventhought some nursing writers focus on communty and
family as focus, most nursing model organize data about the
individual person as focus of nursing attention.
Health refers to ability to function independently. Successful
adaptation to life sresseros, acheivements once ' s full life
potential and unity of mind, body and soul. Health has been a
phenomenon of central intrest to nursing since its inception.
Hence, nursing literature indicate great diversity in the
explication of health and quality of life.
Environment refers to external element that affects person,
internal and external condition that influence the organism,
significant others with the person interact, an open system of
boundaries that permitt the exchange of matter, energy and
information with human being.
When it comes to nursing, nursing is an art, and a practice
disciplin involve caring. Goals of nursing include care of well,
care of sick, assisting with selfcare activities, helping
individuals to attain there human potential and discovering and
using natures law of health.
The purpose of nursing include placing the person in the best
condition of nature to restore health, promoting the adaptation of
individual, facilitate interaction between nurse and client for
jointly set the goals and met, and promoting harmony between
individual and environment.
Nursing practice support and assist individual and families,
communities and the societies to enhance , maintain and recover
health and reduce the impact of illness.
In addition to these many nursing theories and virtually all the
nursing commentators, incorporate these four terms into there
conceptual framework..
