SAFETY PRECAUTION

BIRTH TO 6 MONTHS

While handling, breast feeding

· Baby after birth, head to be hold with back. Otherwise babies tend to have neck pain, irritable cry

· Educate the mother Breast feed the babies till the babies satisfy. After feeding burping is important otherwise regurgitation occurs

· Clean the umbilical cord with dry towel after bathing. Do not apply any oil, any lotion to the umbilical cord.

· Exclusive breast feeding is advised upto6 months to improve immunity and respiratory infection and gastrointestinal infection

· Avoid shaking of babies. Otherwise babies tend to have baby shaken syndrome

· Immunize the babies as appropriately

Bathing:

· Educate the mother to fill tub up to 2-3 inches of Luke warm water for bathing babies. Head to be hold up to 3-4 months while giving bathing

· Avoid using any unnecessary ointment s and lotion to babies. Because babies has delicate skin, get irritated

Sleeping

· Keep a distance from babies. Some time mothers and other children might lie legs on the babies accidently

· Avoid using more pillows near the babies. Pillows tend to fall on the babies , babies might experience breathing difficulty

· Keep the baby in supine position. Sometimes turns to prone positions it endangers to suffocation

6 MONTH S TO ONE YEAR

Feeding and handling

· Additional feeding can be started. Additional food should be digestible and palatable to the babies. Avoid giving hard foods. Because it cause choking

· Advise to Keep things away such as coins, button, balloon, safety pin, peanuts or nuts or old medication covers, batteries

· Advise to Keep away small parts away from the babies otherwise it might cause obstruction

· Explain to Avoid handling of babies while cooking

· Educate to avoid using of knife while handling babies. It might injure the babies

· Never lit candle light within reach of the child. It might injure child

· Never keep any electrical system and wire within reach of the child

Sleeping

· Educate to avoid using excessive pillows, stuffed toys on the bed. Because it cause choking

· Explain to Avoid using of mobiles and laptop in the bed because it may cause radiation

· Advise to avoid using soft bed. Instead to us e firm bed

· Instruct to avoid leaving the babies unattended. Because babies roll over from while sleeping and tend to fall

· Instruct to avoid hanging any objects from high. Babies tend to pull

Bathing:

· Use of Luke warm water with the Fahrenheit of 90-100

· The babies should not leave unattended in the tub. There is a chance of fall and drowning in the water.

· Never fill the any vessels with water. Babies tend to pull an d might the babies

Safety in outdoor

· Babies tend to hide in the car back, any room. So always check when you starting car

· Babies tend to keep the fingers in the door and windows in order to learn the opening and closing door. It might hurt their fingers

· Gates should be installed outside of the house and in the staircase. Otherwise babies tend to go out of house

· Never play the babies near the road. Because babies tend to go roadside without anyone notice

· Grill of Gates should be small. Otherwise babies tend to insert their head inside gates grill

· Avoid keeping any vessel near the babies. Babies tend to insert vessel to their head.

· Babies should not leave with any pets or any other children. Babies tend to prick or cause pain pets. It may aggravate angry of pets and might injure babies

· Avoid keeping and allow the babies near open drain. Babies accidently may fall

· Close all the holes which are safety for small snake, centipede and any other insects
