Safety precautions associated with travel in relation to infection of Amoebiasis disease:
· Amoebiasis is a common cause of diarrhea in travelers that travel to developed countries. Drinking contaminated water, eating contaminated fruits and vegetables and having unprotected oral or anal sexual contact can lead to Amoebiasis. Prevention strategies are focused upon washing hands, drinking bottled water, eating fresh food and avoiding activities that lead to spread of Amoebiasis.
· Cleaning bedrooms and toilets can prevent the condition for the travelers.
· Washing and cooking the raw vegetables thoroughly can prevent Amoebiasis.
· When travelling to developing countries, it is important to avoid eating uncooked foods, drink bottled drinks, and avoid ice containing drinks.
Safety precautions associated with travel in relation to travelers with special needs:
· Travelers with special needs (having a disability, disease or old age) require special precautions in terms of the accommodation, assistance, food and routine.
· Enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) can prevent travelers from any form of discomfort and uneasiness.
· It is important for the disabled people to check for wheelchair accessible toilets in the aircraft as well as the hotel so that any risk to their health and safety can be prevented.
