Public health is the art and science of protecting and promoting the health and preventing illness thereby prolonging the life through organised efforts of the society.
Public health business plan is writing a business plan for healthcare which involves the services you plan to provide and how you intend to run your company.
The overall aim is :
1. Increase healthy life expectancy across the population.
Influence of social marketing:
Is used to influence health behaviour, it uses commercial marketing strategies such as audience segmentation and branding to change health behaviour. Very effective way to change health behaviour in in many areas of risk. They use wide range of communication strategies based on mass media. Now a days they face challenges because of increased number and type of health diseases which require public attention, limitation of time, increased number of communication channels including the internet. For example Health Care professional can play important role in social marketing by two ways: during the social marketing campaigns such as anti-smoking campaign they should reinforce the media messages through counselling and they can also provide another communication channel in order to seek target audience.Thus they can emphasize importance of social marketing.
Target analysis:
It helps to reach and create awareness and that ultimately influence the group of people to select services and products as their need while using fewer resources and generating greater return. Target marketing initiatives resulted in a pursuit which distinguish it from its competitors and they set stage to achieve goals by providing healthcare services to large number of children. They provide good health care services as per the needs of the people while using small resources and generating a greater return.
Thus social marketing and target analysis plays an important role in public health business plan.
