Peter has been working with Marcus for six months to implement his individualised plan. Marcus has an intellectual disability that impairs his ability to communicate and to understand complex concepts. Marcus’ father acts as his advocate. Marcus has a goal to learn to prepare a meal for himself. Marcus has not made much progress towards achieving this goal. Marcus’ parents tell Peter that Marcus does not like the support worker who is supporting him, as he gets impatient when Marcus takes a long time to get things done

1. Peter should consult support coordination agencies. It provides mix of support services. Here coordinates play an important to provide range o f services and enable him to perform well.
2. Marcus has a plan to achieve the goal mainly preparing meal for him. He could not achieve that goal that he planned.
3. Marcus has difficulty to understand concepts and complex words. So his father acts as a advocate for him. When Marcus strives to achieve his goal, but he could not his achieve his goal because of impatient of support worker who support Marcus.
4. Peter set a goal to achieve plan. Peter has to set to do the action, steps in order to achieve the goals and identify support groups and resources for achieving goals. Then plan outcome when achieving the goal.
5. First peter has to assess the limitation and weakness of Marcus and then maximizes strength in order to improve functioning. Peter listen his body movements and try to ask question like open ended questions. Spending more time with him helps to learn his difficulties and assess his social skills, conceptual skills and practical skills. Conceptual skill focus on language, reading, writing, time awareness and problem solving social skills such as friendly, responsible, confident, manners and social problem solving. Practical skills such as activities of daily living, occupational skills safety, routines, reading. Peter work with family members, peer groups, friends, colleagues, other member of social work, self help groups for planning to be reviewed. Peter can arrange parents, peer groups with same problems can be used for support groups
6. Marcus has difficulty in understanding complex concepts and communication. So open ended question and his body language has been assessed in order to achieve goal. His father has been as an advocate for his communication. His father assists him for communicating complex information. Parents demonstrates the procedures of cooking and provide small tasks of cooking, Us e a technology such as cooking videos can be given him to understand topic and educate him how to cook and monitor him for whether he doing activities.
7. Peter can implement his task such as cooking and enjoys works with support groups. Peter can assess him and positive reinforcement. Peter can provide small task to marcus to achieve goal
8. Marcus has difficulty in communicating information. This makes him difficulty to understand concepts. He needs assistance in communicating. Peter advises his father to stay with him to communicate the information. Thereby he can achieve the goal
