What is a major role of muscle and joint proprioceptors? Explain and give examples in your own words.
Proprioception provides position and movement for our body, it
includes our sense of equilibrium, balance, sense of self-movement
also. proprioceptors situated in the neuromuscular spindles and
Golgi tendon organs. it provides a complex sensation, joint
position and movement, muscle force, and effort.. it starts from
signals of sensory receptors in the muscles, skin, and joints.
muscle proprioception helps us to make limb movement, position,
force, heaviness, stiffness, and viscosity, it controls the
movement. example: ask the person to close their eyes and touch
their nose with their index finger. it helps to body's ability to
perceive their own position within the space. another example: ask
the person to walk or kick the ball without looking at your feet
and throwing the ball without looking at the hand. it coordinates
our body's ability to sense the location, movement, and
actions.
Joint proprioception for conscious proprioception makes a sensation
of limb and joint position, range, and direction of limb movement.
it important for skilled movement like talking, walking and
writing. joint proprioception makes awareness of the body in space.
example: when you shake your friend's hand by accidentally if shake
in abnormal position it causes displacement. joint proprioception
makes respond to stress place up in the body by making alteration
of movement and posture.
