(Management Class)

Most of us have to work for a living, and a job is a central part of our lives. So why do managers have to worry so much about employee motivation issues?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Yes, work is a major part of the life, individuals have to work for large part of their lives to earn their livelihood and live happily. But, then this is not enough for anyone to stay motivated throughout the lives to continue at the same place and in the same job. Each stage of work needs the employee to give so much and he needs to be motivated to give his cent percent to survive. There are many opportunities in the market, the employees can jump from one job to another as they may get a better option in terms of work, salary, environment etc. This is one of the major concerns of the manager to make their employees stay motivated all the time because :-

  • They need to retain the set of employees whom they have trained well and who are working for quiet sometime now.
  • Company's goals are met easily with motivated employees.
  • The employees who are motivated work well and their productivity levels are too high.
  • It helps for the company to achieve the higher levels of output.
  • A motivated employee is happy and a happy employee becomes an asset for the company.
  • Such motivated people motivates the other employees and new employees too.
  • They have a sense of belongingness towards the company which in turn becomes their responsibility and they will work harder for the company.
  • Motivated employees work harder to achieve the goals even during crisis.
  • Such employees will be honest and trustworthy.
  • If the employees are motivated and happy all the time, the company will have a good image in the market.
  • The processes and stages in the company will go on smoothly and quick responses can be achieved.
  • One loyal employee will lead to many more and the image of the company in the market will go up.

Due to the above reasons managers have to constantly motivate the employees.
