  • Family history of psychosis
  • Father is of olde age group when child was conceived
  • Autoimmune system with abnormalities
  • Drug abuse during adolescence or early childhood
  • Complications during pregnancy or birth
  • Depression
  • Family problems during childhood.
  • Victim of child abuse
  • Infections during gestation and early childhood like herpes simplex
  • Maternal problems like malnutrition, diabetes, stress, smoking, rhesus incompatibility, hypothyroidism etc.
