1.What are the three layers of magnetism?
2.Why is current alternating?
3.where can you find alternating current in everyday life?
4.why is power moved at a high voltage?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution :

1.

The laws of magnetism are :

• Unlike poles attract each other.

• Like poles repel each other.

• poles always exist in pair, i.e. if a magnet is break in two piece each one have north and south pole.

2.

The alternating current is current which periodically reverse its directon.

The basic reason is in ac generators the current is produced by rotating loop wire inside a magnetic field. The wire rotate and enter north and south pole polarity periodically which cause Current to alternate.

3.

Most home appliances work on ac cureent. Like Mixers, Air conditioners etc.

4.

The power is transmitted at high voltage because it increases the efficiency of transmission.

As High voltage keeps current low so lower cureent causes less resistance loss in energy .

Also it is economical to transmit power at high voltage, as high voltage lesser the current and lower the resistance which enables us to transfer high power at thin wires for a long distance.
