Name a clinical situation/scenario in which Autocratic/Authoritarian leadership style would be effective?
An autocratic form of leadership in which the authority retains the right to make decisions, and where the followers obey the leader's orders without doubt, remains ideally suited for staff.
It is suitable during following conditions like
1. People with low motivation or performance-orientation prefer to work as little as possible, and prefer to pass work on to others while working in a group. An autocratic leader who assigns simple and specific duties guarantees that their share is worked by such workers.
2.An autocratic leader who is allowed to make decisions and delegate the team members assignments and deliverables helps keep the project on track.
3.When the project team consists entirely of new team members who are unfamiliar with their roles, autocratic leadership remains the best way to get the team members to work without wasting time or learning through trial and error.
4.Useful for those doing unskilled jobs who lack the expertise, talents, or desire to react to any participatory forms of leadership, or have low motivation, or need recognition of achievement to work.
5.There is extreme time pressure and it is important to make decisions on the spot, without time for experts, discussions, and pros and cons analysis.
6.when associating with external agencies
7.During implementation of change of transition.
