how does life span development theory assist a disability support workers to mach relevant service and network to the needs of the person
Life span development theory concerns the study of individual development or ontogenesis,from conception to death.
Developmental theory helps the support workers to match relevent services and network to the needs of the person. According to the theory, through continuous assesment of an indidividual we can identify if there is any developmental disability. This assessment is starting from the period of infancy to till the oldage. and also help to find out early detection of developmental disabilities.
Healthcare services provided and supported by many agencies other than just state and territory goverment sources.
*Identify the needs of an individual such as
-Social or emotional needs
-Language and communication needs
-Physical care needs
-Health or medical needs
-Changing or fluctuating needs overtime.
*Physical development involves growth and the changes in body and brain and the senses, motor skills, and health and wellness.
*cognitive development involves learning,attention, memory, language, thinking,reasoning and creativity.
*Psychosocial development involves emotion , personality,and social relationships.
