Discuss the influence of early nursing studies on nursing education. How does your experience of nursing school differ with that of students a century ago?

Nursing is the widely practiced profession worldwide in view of its strong career growth. In earlier days nursing was considered to be a disrespectful profession. The students who learned or involved them in the care of sick was considered to be a service rather than profession. Florence Nightingale influenced the nursing studies on nursing education for the first time and laid a stronger foundation and dragged it towards a profession of respect and dignity .There was a very poor acceptance for this profession , female posed gender discrimination in the care they provided .In olden days the individual who entered nursing education were to serve mankind and it is a true calling of god. The quality of education was not comparatively sophisticated like today .The profession gained it's respect when the Florence Nursing School was first set up.

The students life of nursing career are much advanced when compared to a century ago. The technological advancements has made them to learn nursing from any remote area at their most convinience. Today there are strict rules and regulations ,standards ,ethical consideration ,legal considerations ,the importance of having an active license to practice ,etc. ,Hence the experience of nursing school in reverse t years or in current year ensures the future is focused and the students are taught accordingly to provide the best quality care .
