Can someone answer these two question please. Thank you!
1) Discuss two aquatic ecosystems and include physical features and animal life.
2)Describe the Exponential and Logistic growth models and explain what types of animals and characteristics would follow the two models. (Life expectancy, number of offspring...etc as the characteristics)
1).
Terrestrial biomes are the large areas on Earth with the similar vegetation. Temperature and precipitation are the major contributing factors to this vegetation. Aquatic biomes are different from the terrestrial biomes; they are classified based on the water they present. The two types of aquatic biomes are
1). Fresh water biomes (contains the less than 1% of salt)
2). Marine biomes (contains approximately 3% of water)
The effect of global warming on aquatic biomes is stressed in the recent decades as it is increasing the temperature of islands and many of the fish species are at the risk of extinction (for example, the inland fish). The temperatures on Earth are being raised dramatically in the 21st century, and its effects can be observed clearly by means of melting of ice at the Polar Regions, increasing sea levels, increased rate of occurrence of floods and other natural disasters, etc.
The three marine environment zones are,
1). Intertidal zone
2). Benthic zone
3). Pelagic zone
1). The intertidal zone: The region at which the ocean meets the land is known as intertidal zone, which may be submerged or exposed. Areas with rocky coasts generally have a few algal species and molluscs because of highest tides. Some areas also contain crabs, snails (herbivorous types), small fishes and sea stars are also present. The bottom of this zone inhabits a variety of fishes and invertebrates.
2). The benthic zone: This is present below the pelagic zone (excluding the deepest regions of sea). The bottom of the land is filled with the sand, dead organisms and slit. As the depth increases, the temperature decreases due to low light intensity. The flora and fauna include the seaweed, different types of bacteria, sea anemones, fungi, sponges, fishes, worms, etc.
3). The pelagic zone: It includes the open ocean zones. As there is a continuous mixing of warm and cold water, their temperature changes often. The commonly observed flora and fauns in these regions include the see weeds that grow on surface, a variety of fish species, mammals such as dolphins and whales.
