In your view, are smartphones a closer substitute for tablet computers, such as the iPad, or for e-readers, such as the Kindle? Explain your position and share with the group if you think there is even better technology on the horizon that incorporates the best of both features.
Reading on a smartphone or in full sunlight it is very difficult because of the glare from the light reflected by the screen. Whereas dedicated e-readers with a non -glare screen which makes very easy to read on them in full sunlight.
Also, reading on smartphone use to tire my eyes quickly , but i can read more comfortably on e -readers as the size of the things matters . Its much more easy to read on e-readers as compared to that on smartphones because of its size .Smartphones consumes more battery as compared to tablet computers, kindle and e-readers as their are many background running regularly on smartphones . It usually affects the most when the font size is bit small. Each time while reading on smartphones we have to zoom each and every line while in tablet computers (due to its size) the fonts can be read easily .
They are absolutely different devices.
An ereader is way better to read and a smartphone is at best a
quick and dirty placeholder when the reader is not at hand. The key
thing is not the size , but screen type. The erader screen is made
to please your eyes, with a very different level of comfort.
Smartphones have blue light that is much more aggressive to your
eyes, and therefore is not good for reading.
I have the 3 devices and I can say that I've started reading A LOT more since I bought the Kindle.
If you want both the above features its better that you buy an android tablet as it will function you for both the tablet computer as well as the features of your smartphones. Although its not handy as compared to smartphones but it can please you well while reading the text.
