Working as a member of an interprofessional team is an important aspect of the Registered Nurse. Teamwork and collaboration have been proven to have a positive impact on safe, quality, and client care. Effective communication helps to decrease risk of client injury and increase continuity of care.

Give an example of experience(s) with practices that include health care teamwork and communication, and how working together made a positive impact.

I have an experience of my medical ICU posting where a foreigner patient ( a 17year old girl ) with Myasthenia gravis was admitted and she progressed into complicated phase of Myasthenia gravis for which a multiprofessional team meeting was conducted and care was planned by taking suggestions from different field of healthcare services and department like neuro physician , intensivist ,nurses , physiotherapist , dietician , speech therapist etc . Intervention for the management were planned on the team basis .

The interventions planned brought a huge difference in the disease of the patient and made it easier for the patient to recovery that she was discharged within 2months .

#. Nurses are strong in providng their evidence based care , therapeutic communication skills

#. Nurses are weak in maintaing the inter collaboration between with in staffs probably due to superiority and ego issues which has to be sorted .
