1. Wash hand

• Aseess the area for any fissure, rashes, hemorrhoids etc
• Lubricate gloved index finger
• Insert index finger to rectum
• Assess posterior and lateral wall of rectum for lump and tear.
• Instruments :Rectoscope.
• Abnormal finding : rectal bleeding, rectal mass etc

• Vaginal speculum
• Gloves
• Lignocane jelly
• Betadine

Techniques

• Advice to client to void
• Place lithotomy/ dorsal recumbent position
• Drape the client
• Clean perineum with betadine
• Do examination
• Documents findings
• Speculum (cusco) examination it should lubricated with gelly or lukewarm water
• Labia separated with index finger and thumb of left hand.
• Closed Lubricated speculum in nulliparous woman inserted vertically with speculum handles on patients right side, rotate through 45degree, bringing the speculum handles to the posterior position.
• In multiparous women speculum rotated without any rotation.
• Speculum examination helps the visualization of cervix.
• Abnormal findings : cervical fibroids
