In your own words, what is “sex addiction?” Are there agreed upon criteria for a clinical diagnosis? What other qualities do those with sex addiction generally possess? What are your own personal thoughts on sex addiction? Do you think it’s real?

Sex addiction can be stated as a state by compulsive addiction and people who are not able to control their sexual urges.It can be voluntary or forceful with the partner.It can be classified as a form of addiction but have negative impacts on their family members as it progresses.They are not rapists but mere addiction to sexual activites.A sex addict will continue to engage himself in certain sexual behaviours inspite of harm that can be done to him.However all other addictions do not carry a stigma as much as sex addiction does.This can be considered as an abnormal behaviour which has changes in the brain and brain reward associated with sexual drive.The diagnositc and statistical manual of psychiatry disorders brings about sex addiction under sexual disorders.This states that a person has a compulsive fixation on an unattainable partner ,compulsive love relationships,compulsive sexuality in a relationship.
