Project Description;Project focused on improving metrics around one specific clinical device,that is catheter.In the hospitals,it is observed that,urinary catheters are advised to patients who do not need them,and they were being left too long. The project aims to decreasing the number of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections in the hospital.The plan is to demonstrate a new system of nursing documentation and physician orders so that patients in need of catheters are approximately cared for.By implementing this project,we can reduce the number of catheter associated infections to an extent and avoid unwanted infections in patients who do not need.It starts from the duty rooms where catheters are taken to the patient side.Nurses are advised to practice asceptic technique so that each and every chance of infection to be prevented.Proper hand washing,gloving and procedure of catherizationto be explained to every nursing staff by the supervisors who are allocated under this project.The budget for this project is minimum compared with others,but the result will be huge than expectation.
