Solutions

Expert Solution

A patient is more at risk to aspirate into the right lung & mainly the rigjt lower lobe of the lung is the common site.

Explanation:- In the case of foreign body aspiration, the right lower lobe of the lung is more common. This happens mainly for the anatomical structure of the right lung. The right main bronchus is actually wider as well as steeper than the left main bornchus. Even more vertical orientation of the right mainstem bronchus can increase the risk to aspirate into right lung.

2.

It is believed that the optimal position of the distal tip of an endotracheal tube (CELL) should be 4 cm ( 3-6 cm for adults) above the carina ( this ia mainly a cartilage which is situated at one point where trachea divides into the two bornchi) or between the second & fourth tracheal rings .As the result of this it will not raise the ETT out of the airway or it'll not push it into an endobronchial position due to the movement of head.

By using an end-tidal carbon dioxide detector the confirmation of ET tube positioning normally evaluates.
