1. Explain the pathophysiology of shortness of breath without lung disease in a patient with anemia.
2. What is the pathophysiology of low blood pressure (hypotension) in a patient with severe anemia?
3. What is the difference between acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML)?
4. What findings in your hematologic assessment you will suspect anemia in an older adult?
P.S: If you can answer all, please do. thank you.
1. Hemoglobin is the oxygen carrier in our body and is an iron rich protein. It carries oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. If anyone suffering from anemia, his or her body does not get sufficient oxygen or oxygen rich blood. That person seems to be weak and tired. He or she also feels dizziness and shortness of breathe even he or she doesn't have any lung disease.
2. Hypotension is a situation in which the patient arterial blood pressure abnormally low. People who suffer from hypotension with severe anemia doesn't get sufficient oxygen to their body organs. This is due to lack of iron rich protein hemoglobin in the blood. This may also cause cellular damage and tissue disfunctioning.
3. Difference between acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML):
The main difference between these two leukemias is the type of white blood cells affected.
4. Findings in hematologic assessments:
