A researcher in aquaculture (fish farming) is interested in whether fish fed on minnows or fish raised on food pellets gain weight faster. A number of fish are randomly assigned to being fed minnows or food pellets. Assume that the data is normally distributed. Sample data is as follows: Sample A (minnows): Mean weight = 3.5 lbs s = 0.5 lbs. n = 25 Sample B (pellets): Mean weight = 2.9 lbs s = 0.4 lbs n = 25 Perform a hypothesis test at 95% confidence, to determine whether the two populations grow at the same rate. To get full credit, state your null and alternate hypotheses, show your test statistic, show your critical region, and state your conclusion: do fish raised on minnows grow equally fast as fish raised on pellets? YES or NO

A researcher is interested in whether or not there is a difference in student’s performance based on the study methods they use. Participants are assigned one of three different study methods (read the text and re-read it, read and answer prepared questions, and read then create your own questions). There are 6 people in each group and the researcher measures the participants’ performance on a test. Perform a hypothesis test and show all four steps. Hints: Use a two tailed...
