1. Name of the Podcast: Trump Guts requirement that Employer Health Plans Pay for Birth Control

2. Concern: Sets up a fight between those who ask for equal rights for women, and, the advocates of religious freedom. Civil liberties Union may claim that it violates the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. This clause is for everyone to get equal protection under the law.

3: Potential positive effect, or, outcome:

Employers, and, employees have a right to religious belief. Employers should not deny women access to health care, but, employers, and, religious groups have a right to religious freedom. Non-profit groups can exclude the coverage.

4. Insurers, or, those working for insurance firms

Insurers will get affected as new guidelines will be issued for insurance firms. They will have to charge women It will expand the availability of short-term plans, from three months to one year. The insurers will have to give employees two months advance notice.

5. Two interesting things:

  • President Trump made a promise to The Little Sisters of the Poor, a Catholic religious order, to roll back the requirement
  • The 14th Amendment provides Equal Protection Clause; the civil liberties groups may claim that this violates the 14th Amendment.
