Summarize the main requirements of the PPACA. Do you think that the government should require that every person has health insurance? Explain your answer.
1. The main requirements of the PPACA are -
I> Eligibility for health plan coverage. For being eligible employees have to work for 30+ hours in a week.
II> If an employer has at least 50+ fulltime employees then the employer is eligible for the PPACA.
III> The health benefits coverage of the PPACA will be given if the Minimum Essential Coverage and Minimum Value are meet.
IV> As per the requirement of the PPACA rules, employees don't pay more than 9.5% of their income for their employer’s health plan.
2. Do you think that the government should require that every person has health insurance?
Ans. - Yes, I think that the government should require that every person has health insurance.
The reason - I> the cost of healthcare is rising day by day
II> The luxury mirage. Many people are spending money on traveling through flights as it is indicating the rising of the lifestyle. But they don't buy health insurance packages as it is an intangible asset to them. For these people, the Government should make the buying health insurance plans mandatory.
III> Many people can't afford the cost of healthcare systems. So the health insurance must be mandatory to get the quality services from the hospitals, nursing homes etc.
